TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Membership Terms and Conditions may vary by club location and will be advertised to you if this is the case. By joining the Club, you will tick a check box to agree to the following terms and conditions, which you can refer to at any time.

 

  1. Active247 maintains and enforces membership rules to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in which to workout.

  2. Active247 may amend these rules from time to time and will publicise any changes by way of an email to our members.

  3. “You should not exercise beyond your own abilities. If you know or are concerned that you have a medical condition which might interfere with you exercising safely, before you use our equipment and facilities you should get advice from a relevant medical professional and follow that advice.

  4. You should ask a Colleague if there is any equipment which you are unsure how to use.

  5. You should make yourself aware of any rules and instructions, including warning notices. Exercise carries its own risks. You should not carry out any activities which you have been told are not suitable for you.”

  6. You agree you will take time to familiarise yourself with the instructions displayed in the Club and on the fitness equipment regarding the safe use of the Club's fitness equipment. If you decide that you require any assistance in the use of the fitness equipment you will ensure that you make an appointment with a qualified member of our team who will assist you to use the Club's fitness equipment safely and effectively

  7. You understand that you have a Virtual Induction in your Success Dashboard that covers the basic safe use of gym equipment and that you will review this if you feel necessary or you are new to using a fitness club.

    You have considered your own personal fitness requirements and will exercise within your own abilities, taking into consideration any disabilities which you may have.

  8. You accept that the Club is not staffed during all Club opening hours and that it is your personal responsibility to stop exercising if you feel ill or require assistance.

  9. You will decide if you have a medical condition that requires advice from your own medical advisor before embarking on an exercise programme at the Club.

  10. We're sorry for being direct, but we operate a NO D*ckhead Policy. We welcome members who respect the gym, respect fellow members and respect our staff. If there is any aggression, harassment, intimidation or verbal abuse towards staff or members, then we reserve the right to terminate your Membership immediately. We hope that you understand.

  11. As a member of the Club, you agree to undertake our compulsory Onboarding Session with a member of our Personal Training team. These are an essential element of our insurance requirements and ability to operate this Club unmanned if the need occurs.

  12. Each Onboarding session will last no more than 1 hour and will cover our gym rules, membership and booking queries, how to use our club access control system, our cancellation policy and an introduction to your personal Success Dashboard.

  13. All TEEN members MUST attend an Onboarding session within 7 days of joining and we do require a completed Parental Consent Form. Failure to abide by these requirements will result in the suspension of your access to the Club.

  14. If you have joined on a short term membership, you are not required to book an onboarding session.  This includes 1 Day Pass, 1 week and 2 week passes and our 1 month pass. 

  15. You must be 18 years or older to purchase on of our Short Term Memberships

  16. You will be issued with your free full access control via Kisi which our staff will check you have set up correctly durning your compulsory Onboarding Session. If you require a fob this will be at a cost of £5 which will refunded when returned.  If you lose your fob additional fobs will cost £10.  

  17. You agree not to share your access device or fob with any other person and you will not permit any other member to tailgate you into the Club.

  18. We have a flexible membership policy and we have NO membership contracts, however, we do require a strict 30 days notice to cancel any memberships. If you request a cancellation after 10th of the month, your last payment will be for the following month and you can use the gym up until the end of this month.  We do not accept any cancellation requests verbally or via email.  All cancellation requests are to be submitted via our cancellation form on our website www.active247.co.uk.  The cancellation of your direct debit or bank card will not cancel your membership and your payments will continue until you have followed the correct cancellation procedure as stated above. All cancellation requests will receive an email confirmation within 7 days. It is your responsibility to check you have received the confirmation and to check your bank for any future payments.

  19. We allow you to pause your membership but require at least 14 days' notice. You can pause your membership for for up to 3 months at any one time.  Your membership will unpause and will restart automatically at the end of the requested period. You will be charged a £5 fee each month that your account is on pause to account for the admin work and to maintain your membership at the current membership rate. if you request your pause within 5 days of your next payment, it will not be possible for us to stop your direct debit and the pause of your membership will commence on the next payment month. We do not accept any pause requests verbally or via email.  All pause requests are to be submitted via pause form on our website www.active247.co.uk. The cancellation of your direct debit or bank card will not pause your membership and your payments will continue until you have followed the correct pause procedure as stated above. All pause requests will receive an email confirmation within 7 days. It is your responsibility to check you have received the confirmation and to check your bank for any future payments.

  20. You will not be permitted to use the Club whilst under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, tranquillizers or make use of any other medical substance which may affect your ability to exercise safely at the gym.

  21. You agree to clean and sanitise all equipment immediately after use with the cleaning products provided.

  22. You agree not to conduct any Personal Training business with other Members.

  23. You agree you are using the changing rooms at your own risk during the unmanned hours.

  24. You agree not to use, block or interfere with fire, emergency or disabled access doors or alarms (except in a genuine emergency).

  25. You will not drop or throw weights on the gym floor. You will replace all equipment where it should be stored, regardless of whether it was in the correct location when you used it. We have the right to terminate your membership if you are not abiding by these rules. 

  26. You agree to only use gym equipment in the manner in which the manufacturer intended. If you are unsure of the correct use, you will ask a member of the Personal Training Team.

  27. You agree not to take photographs or videos at the Club or post remarks on any social media or other internet sites without the express permission of any staff or members who appear in the video or photo.

    You agree not to take gym bags onto the gym floor and to put any belongings in the lockers provided. Furthermore, you agree that you will not leave any belongings overnight in the lockers.

  28. Where saunas or steam rooms are available, you agree not to pour any water or oils on the sauna coals, not to shave or use any other creams in these areas and to abide by all safety rules for the use of these facilities. No one 16 years old or under may use these facilities.

  29. Active247 is a small business with limited resources and does not have the time to chase missed membership payments. Your access control will be blocked if any payment remains outstanding for more than 14 days. If payment is missed for more than 2 months in any 12 month period, we reserve the right to terminate your membership or apply a £5 administration charge to cover the time chasing missed payments.

  30. You agree to wear suitable clothing and footwear when exercising. For clarity, denim jeans, flip-flops, sliders, crocs, work boots or a bare torso are examples of what is NOT permitted. Any member not wearing suitable attire may be asked to leave the gym at the discretion of the local management team.

  31. You agree to enter and exit the Club quietly so as not to disturb any of our neighbours.

  32. These rules are in place to preserve the welcoming and supportive gym environment that we have spent years creating. If these rules feel a bit “over the top” or unreasonable, then this is probably not the gym for you. Rather than fall out with us, please just find a different gym to train at.
